Buying Bathroom Shower Faucets

While a complete renovation of your bathroom may be nice, it can be a very expensive ordeal.  If the basic fixtures in your bathroom are still are in reliable working condition, you can save money by simply adding some attractive, new tub and shower faucets.

Modern bathroom shower faucets have moved a long way from the fixtures of the past.  Single lever shower faucets have replaced hot and cold knobs, that were the industry standard only 10 years ago.  This type of faucet is easy to control and you can leave it in the same position so the water temperature will remain the same.

There are many finishes to choose from among single lever faucets. There is sedate nickel as well as gold to coordinate with the theme you want. You can also choose faucets made of silver or brass if that is more of your style.

If you know your way around a plumbing system, you can replace your old faucets with new ones.  You may want to call a plumber if you are switching from a single faucet system to a multi faucet system. The plumber will make sure that the pipes are in the right connections.

You can shop for bathroom and shower fixtures by simply visiting your local hardware store.  The big retail stores that sell everything that you can buy also have a plumbing department where you can shop for fixtures.

If you are going to replace your bathroom shower faucet, then you should update your bathtub faucet at the same time, so your fixtures can still coordinate with each other.  If you are not going to purchase the best quality, then you just keep your old tub and shower faucets. The cost for high quality faucets may be more, but they are better quality and will provide you with years of service.
